Spain will mediate so that the former director of military intelligence of Chavismo, Hugo Carvajal, surrenders to the United States.

The former director of military intelligence of Venezuela (DGCOM), Hugo Carvajal, calculated that he had four years of legal battles in the Spanish courts to stop his extradition to the United States. The European Justice approved his shipment to North American territory, but the long times of the legal process gave a survival to the former strong man of Chavismo.

Venezuelan General Clíver Alcalá Cordones surrendered in Colombia and will be extradited to the United States

The (retired) Venezuelan general Clíver Alcalá Cordones turned himself in before the Colombian authorities on Friday and will be extradited to the United States, the newspaper El Tiempo reported. The retired military officer reportedly presented himself at the National Intelligence Directorate.

Cuba’s Contribution to Combating COVID-19

COVID-19 surged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in late December 2019, and by January 2020 it had hit Hubei province like a tidal wave, swirling over China and rippling out overseas. The Chinese state rolled into action to combat the spread and to care for those infected. Among the thirty medicines the Chinese National Health Commission selected to fight the virus was a Cuban anti-viral drug, Interferon Alpha 2b. This drug has been produced in China since 2003, by the enterprise ChangHeber, a Cuban-Chinese joint venture.
