Pence will announce mission of hospital ship to Latin America due to exodus of Venezuelans

Vice President Mike Pence will report this Tuesday in Miami on the upcoming mission of the military medical personnel of the hospital ship USNS Comfort in South America, Central America and the Caribbean to help alleviate the pressure of the region’s health systems due to the increase in Venezuelans displaced.

Pence will address the issue with the head of the Southern Command, Admiral Craig Faller, and Carlos Vecchio, ambassador of Venezuela in the United States appointed by interim president Juan Guaidó, in the port of Miami from where the ship will set sail for the medical mission of five months.

The Southern Command reported that the hospital ship will travel to Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Panama, Saint Lucia and St. Kitts and Nevis.
