245 new cases of COVID-19 are registered in one day in the DR, increasing the number of infections to 8,480

The Minister of Public Health, Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas, reported that the positive cases of coronavirus COVID-19 amounted to 8,480, for a sum of 245 new positives.

Bulletin # 47 of the Ministry of Public Health details that the deceased rose to 354, eight more than the previous report. The recovered are 1,905.

He indicated that there are 644 hospitalized patients with 1,580 registered beds, which represents an occupation of 40.75 percent. He said that the total number of people in Intensive Care Units (ICU) amounts to 126, having a total of 332 ICUs. The occupancy rate is 37.95 percent.

Of the 126 in intensive care, 61 are under mechanical ventilation, indicating that this figure represents 48.4 percent.

During the press conference on Monday, the minister indicated that the cases of coronavirus were 8,235. While the death toll was 346, 13 more deaths than the previous report.
