Almost 80,500 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Dominican Republic

At least 767 new coronavirus infections were confirmed in the last hours as well as 19 deaths, according to the report issued this Monday by the Ministry of Public Health.

The bulletin 144 of the Ministry of Public Health indicates that 80,499 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the Dominican Republic and 1,328 people have died from the pandemic.

This Sunday alone, 3,453 PCR tests were taken for a total of 297,492 processed samples.

The recovered are 44,910 and the active cases 34,261 of which 6,765 in hospital isolation and 27,496 in home isolation.

At least 309 people are admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICU). 44.01 percent in Greater Santo Domingo; 24.92 percent in Santiago and 13.92 percent in Duarte.

The median age of those infected is 38 years.
