A week of pilgrim caravan are 58 infected with coronavirus in Puerto Plata Dominican Republic
One week after the implementation of the epidemiological cord in Puerto Plata, at least 58 coronavirus infections have been confirmed after a caravan was carried out to accompany the pilgrim from Villa Altagracia, Migdomio Adames.
According to a bulletin 47, corresponding to the cut of the 6:00 in the afternoon of Monday, Puerto Plata has registered 11 new cases in the last hours, for a cumulative of 256 positives.
The Minister of Public Health, Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas, indicated that in the latter there was also a new death for a total of 18.
The number of recovered in Puerto Plata is 46.
In the last week, 8 new cases per day have been confirmed on average in Puerto Plata.
Last Monday, April 27, the Dominican government ordered that Puerto Plata be kept under an epidemiological cordon for seven days, starting on Tuesday, April 28.
Health authorities reported that this period, which ends on Tuesday, May 5, could be modified depending on how the situation in Puerto Plata continues.
On Sunday, April 26, hundreds of people violated the social distancing measure to accompany the pilgrim from Villa Altagracia, Migdomio Adames, to place a cross on Camacho beach, in Puerto Plata, with the promise that this would end the incidents of the coronavirus in Dominican Republic.
Bulletin 47 of the Ministry of Public Health details that at 8,480, for a sum of 245 new positives.
In addition, the deceased rose to 354, eight more than the previous report.
