The Ministry of Public Health reported this Saturday that the six new cases of COVID-19 registered in the country are imported from abroad, therefore the local circulation of the virus is ruled out.

With these six new cases, announced yesterday by Public Health, there are a total of 11 infected persons who are in national territory. The new patients with coronavirus are three Dominicans, one French and two Venezuelan. Yesterday, the Minister of Public Health, Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas, maintained that there are 37 COVID-19 tests pending confirmation.

In this sense, the official reported that 119 travelers are being followed up at home and 18 are hospitalized as a preventive measure against the coronavirus pandemic.

Sánchez Cárdenas pointed out that during this Saturday the entity he directs will be reporting more details about patients with COVID-19.

The minister said that until the local transmission of the virus occurs in the country, it can be said that there are no local cases because the 11 confirmed have been imported from abroad.
