Vice President of Panama receives the designated Venezuelan representative of the president in charge, Juan Guaidó
The Vice President and Chancellor, Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado, received on Friday the courtesy visit of Fabiola Zavarce, Representative for Panama appointed by the President in Charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, accompanied by Vice Chancellor Luis Miguel Hincapié.
During the meeting, which took place in the Bolívar Palace, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the social, political and economic crisis that crosses the Venezuelan nation was discussed, and in this space, the Panamanian foreign minister reiterated the willingness of Panama to contribute in the wake of this crisis and ratified the position of the Government of the Republic of Panama of recognition of the President of the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó as President in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Likewise, he reiterated Panama’s support for a process of democratic transition, including an early call for free elections, with international guarantees and standards and the equal participation of all political actors.
For her part, the designated representative of the President in charge of Venezuela, Fabiola Zavarce, thanked the Government of the Republic of Panama for the support provided for the recovery of democracy in the South American country and its interest in working hand in hand to reach a region more peaceful and prosperous.
