It was noticed that the WhatsApp messaging service went offline at approximately 16:15 Eastern Time on July 19, 2023 and this was verified by the site https://downdetector.com/status/whatsapp/ and Meta’s own status page https://metastatus.com/whatsapp-business-api . Users were unable to send and receive messages during this time. It seems that the outage is subsiding and once Whatsapp reports the outage is over a further updated to this post will be made.
The outage resolved about 45 minutes after initially reported.
