Guaidó creates National Communication Center

The Venezuelan National Assembly approved on Tuesday the creation of the National Communication Center, which would function as an “official information organ” of the Acting President Juan Guaidó.

During the debate for the approval, the deputies assured that the center will face the “policy of hegemony” of the government in dispute of Nicolás Maduro and will serve to overcome “the communication fence”.

They also indicated that it will be for all journalists, communicators and citizens, because it will have an open communication model.

In the decree, they detail that the Center will also provide services to the “legitimate public authorities” and among its powers will disseminate information on the activities and management of the government in charge.

They took the opportunity to call on the press workers, the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) and other public media to participate in the Labor Day march on Wednesday, May 1.

As the director of the organization was named Alberto Ravell, founding journalist of the news portal La Patilla and former general director of the Globovisión channel.
