The Acting President of Venezuela Juan Guaidó addressed Venezuelans this Saturday, May 11, with a message of hope, after the arbitrary detention of the regime of Nicolás Maduro by the first deputy president of the National Assembly, Deputy Edgar Zambrano. “The option is to stay at home waiting, the option is to keep demanding our rights in the streets, making the world see that there is a determined people here and determined to conquer freedom”.

Guaidó said that they have held talks with their international allies, including Colombia, Brazil and the United States. “We received with joy the communication first of President Trump, but also of the different levels and we have instructed our Ambassador Carlos Vecchio to meet immediately with the head of the Southern Command Admiral Craig Faller to be able to establish direct relations and reach in matters of cooperation”.

He emphasized that “at all times I have spoken of cooperation, intervention in Venezuela already exists and it is the penetration of the ELN in Venezuela and it is the penetration of Cubans in Venezuela.”

He welcomed the recent communications from the Italian government and the Chinese government, which assured that they are approaching a solution through the Contact Group, which the Guaidó describes as an achievement of the street fight.
