The European Union released 20 million euros in order to help Venezuelans, the crisis in their country, the search for data abroad.
The amount allocated by the EU to help Venezuelans increased to 55 million euros, since in June it was envisaged that some 35 million euros would be granted in order to meet the emergency.
Christos Stylianides, European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, reported that the EU is committed to helping Venezuelans in their needs, in addition to the communities that are located in neighboring countries.
“Our new funds increase efforts to provide health and food assistance, emergency shelter and better access to water and sanitation,” Stylianides said in a document.
The European Commissioner is one of the officials who have traveled to Colombia and its border with Venezuela to verify the diaspora of Venezuelans, who has arrived at the Nicolás Maduro regime and its crisis.
More than 3 million Venezuelans have left the Caribbean country in search of refuge and better living conditions, according to United Nations data.
