Authorities in Aruba found two lifeless bodies in a boat that sailed from Venezuela on Friday night with at least 20 people and was shipwrecked at the height of the sector known as “Santana di Cacho”.

The corpses, which correspond to two male bodies, have not been identified. Three people were rescued from the small boat and placed under arrest. So far, the whereabouts of the other 15 crew members are unknown.

The Minister of Justice of Aruba, Andy Bikker, detailed that the corpses were confiscated by the authorities, while the detainees are the questions of rigor.

A boat came to the coast from Venezuela. “Two people died, other people are detained, (…) the situation in Venezuela has led to the illegal entry of Venezuela into Aruba,” the senior official said.

Of the men arrested, one of them said that he had been a National Guard officer in Venezuela. The subject, who has not improved his face to avoid being recognized, has reported on the tasks he has had two years in Aruba and has worked in a security company on the island.

One of the Aruba police officers interrogated the man and told him that he had hidden in the forest, and that he was not afraid of being deported.

“I was the National Guard in Venezuela, I am afraid that they deport us friend, I have family”, said the citizen

It should be noted that this would be the third wreck that will occur in the last year in the territories belonging to the Netherlands.
