A group of Venezuelans protested Thursday in front of the Consulate of Venezuela in Madrid for the act of swearing by Nicolás Maduro.

The manifestos, with Venezuelan flags in hand, placed papers in the windows of the consular headquarters in what was read “Maduro Usurpador”. We also ask for support from the international community to help restore democracy in the country.

“At this moment, in Venezuela, we are in the history of democratic history in Venezuela, the usurpation of Nicolás Maduro as president, that the rest of the world in Venezuela was executed on May 20 without the right to vote, which was also rejected by the international community as an unequivocal fact of the sacred will of the people.

Maduro will be sworn in on January 10 as president of the Republic in an act that is not recognized by the majority of the international community.

“Maduro is usurping power, his whole entourage is usurping power, Bolívar’s children are going through hunger,” says one protester.
